What is this scheme?
The Pragati Scholarship is implemented by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to promote technical education among girls. It aims to support one girl per family (with a provision for two girls per family if family income is low) who have been admitted to the first year or second year (through lateral entry) of an AICTE-approved institution. The scheme provides a fixed amount to cover tuition fees and other incidental expenses.
Who is eligible?
- The candidate must be a female student.

- The student must be admitted to the First year of a Degree/Diploma course OR Second year of a Degree/Diploma course via lateral entry in an AICTE-approved institution.
- Family income from all sources must not exceed ₹8 lakh per annum.

How much money?
A total of ₹50,000 per annum is provided for every year of study. This is a lump sum amount towards payment of college fees, purchase of books, equipment, soft wares, laptop, desktop, vehicle, and other fee related to competitive examination applications.
Documents needed
- Mark sheet of standard 10th and 12th/equivalent.
- Income certificate for the current financial year issued by a competent authority (Tahsildar or above).
- Admission letter issued by the Centralized Admission Authority.
- Tuition fee receipt.
- Bank account passbook (linked with Aadhaar) showing Name, IFSC code, and Account number.
- Caste certificate (for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
- Aadhaar card.
- Bonafide certificate issued by the Head of the Institution.

- Visit the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) official website.
- Register as a new user to generate a Student Application ID and Password.
- Login using the credentials and fill out the application form for 'AICTE - Pragati Scholarship Scheme'.
