The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) is a prestigious central sector initiative by the Ministry of Education, designed to support meritorious students from economically weaker sections. What is this scheme?

• The applicant must have secured at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) in their Class 7 examination.
• Parental annual income from all sources must not exceed ₹3,50,000.
• Students must be studying as regular students in Class 9 after clearing the selection test.
• Students of NVS, KVS, Sainik schools, and private schools are not eligible for this scholarship.

How much money?

The selected scholars receive a total sum of ₹12,000 per annum (₹1,000 per month) from Class 9 to Class 12.
