• For Direct Entry: Must have been selected for a PhD program in one of the PMRF granting institutions.
• Minimum CGPA of 8.0 or equivalent is generally required for most entry paths.
• For Lateral Entry: Must be a PhD student in a PMRF granting institution with at least 12 to 24 months of residency completed depending on the degree stream.
• The research must be in a discipline related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, or Medicine.

How much money?

The fellowship provides 70,000 INR per month for the first two years, 75,000 INR for the third year, and 80,000 INR per month for the fourth and fifth years. Additionally, a research grant of 2 Lakh INR per year is provided for five years.
