The Technology Incubation and Development of Entrepreneurs (TIDE 2.0) is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Launched to bolster the tech-startup ecosystem, the scheme aims to promote innovation and entrepreneurship by providing financial and technical support to startups using emerging technologies like IoT, AI, BlockChain, and Robotics to solve societal challenges.
What is this scheme?
TIDE 2.0 is a scheme designed to support 2,000 tech startups through a network of 51 incubation centers across India. It focuses on eight key thematic areas: Healthcare, Education, Agriculture, Financial Inclusion, Energy, Environment, Clean Energy, and Infrastructure. The scheme is implemented through three tiers of incubation centers (G1, G2, and G3) to ensure a wide geographical reach and varying levels of support based on the maturity of the startup.
Who is eligible?
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- The entity must be a startup as defined by DPIIT.
- The startup must be working on ICT-enabled solutions (Electronics, IT, or ITeS).
- Solutions must address problems in focused thematic areas like Healthtech, Agritech, or Edutech.
- Academic institutions and R&D organizations registered as TIDE centers are eligible to host these startups.
How much money?
The scheme provides support through two main fellowships: Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EiR) providing up to INR 4 Lakhs for validation of ideas, and Grants representing up to INR 7 Lakhs for Minimum Viable Product (MVP) development. Startups may also access investments up to INR 40 Lakhs through specific incubation categories.

- Participate in the screening process which usually involves a pitch session before a selection committee.
- Upon selection, enter into an agreement with the TIDE 2.0 center to receive mentorship and funding disbursement.
