TIDE 2.0: Empowering Tech Startups through MeitY Incubation Support

The Technology Incubation and Development of Entrepreneurs (TIDE 2.0) is a flagship initiative by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Launched to push the boundaries of India's digital economy, the scheme aims to support 2,000 tech startups through a robust network of 51 incubators across the country. What is this scheme?

TIDE 2.0 is the evolved version of the original TIDE scheme, designed to foster innovation and entrepreneurship by providing financial and technical support to tech startups. It operates through a tiered model of Centers of Excellence (CoE) and incubation centers categorized as Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3 centers based on their maturity and regional impact. The primary focus is on solving societal challenges in sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, and financial services using ICT technologies.

Who is eligible?

• The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
• The startup must be registered in India as a Private Limited Company or LLP.
• The startup must be at the Ideation, MVP, or Pre-Scale stage.
• Solutions must involve Information and Communication Technology (ICT) including AI, Blockchain, IoT, Robotics, etc.
• The startup must be incubated or willing to be incubated at one of the 51 designated TIDE 2.0 centers.

How much money?

TIDE 2.0 provides support under two main categories: Entrepreneur-in- Residence (EiR) Grant up to INR 4 Lakhs for validation of ideas, and Grants for MeitY Startup Sprint (bridge to prototyping) up to INR 7 Lakhs. Additionally, selected startups may receive mentorship and access to infrastructure worth significantly more.

2. Visit the MeitY Startup Hub (MSH) official portal to check for active cohorts.
3. Prepare a detailed proposal highlighting the problem statement, solution, and market viability.
4. Submit the application form through the specific TIDE center's portal or the MSH integrated portal.
5. Undergo a screening process which includes a pitch presentation before a selection committee.
6. If selected, sign an incubation agreement and receive initial funding and mentorship support.
