The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), launched by NITI Aayog, is a flagship initiative to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across India. The scheme provides financial support through two primary tracks: Atal Incubation Centres (AIC) and Established Incubation Centres (EIC). AICs are set up to support start-ups in specific sectors such as health, energy, and agriculture, providing them with necessary infrastructure, mentorship, and global networking opportunities. EICs receive scale-up support to enhance existing incubation facilities. The program aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by fostering world-class incubation facilities and providing seed funding to high-potential start-ups. It operates on a milestone-based funding model to ensure accountability and long-term sustainability of the innovation ecosystem in India.
