Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) - Atal Incubation Centres

Varies

The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), launched by NITI Aayog, is a flagship initiative to create a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across India. A primary component involves providing financial support to establish Atal Incubation Centres (AICs) that nurture innovative start-ups. The scheme provides grant-in-aid to support operational expenses and infrastructure for incubators across various sectors such as health, energy, agriculture, and transport. Selected institutions, including higher education bodies, R&D institutes, and corporate entities, receive funding to build world-class incubation facilities. These centres offer start-ups physical infrastructure, mentoring, business support services, and access to investors, thereby accelerating the growth of technology-driven enterprises. The mission also supports existing incubation centres through Scaling-up Support to enhance their capacity and reach within the national start-up ecosystem.
