Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme for North Eastern Region

The Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme is a dedicated initiative by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to promote higher education among students from the North Eastern Region of India. Launched to improve the gross enrollment ratio and provide equal opportunities for professional and general studies, the scheme awards 10,000 fresh scholarships annually. It targets students who have passed their Class XII or equivalent examination and have secured admission into first-year degree courses in recognized universities or colleges. By providing substantial financial assistance, the scheme aims to reduce the financial burden on families in the NER and encourage students to pursue diverse academic paths including technical, medical, and professional streams across the country, fostering national integration through education.
