National Overseas Scholarship for SC and ST Students

The National Overseas Scholarship is a Central Sector Scheme that provides financial assistance to students from Scheduled Castes, Denotified Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes, Landless Agricultural Labourers, and Traditional Artisans. It facilitates their pursuit of higher education, specifically Master’s level courses or Ph.D. degrees, in accredited universities abroad. The scheme aims to enhance the economic and social status of these marginalized communities by providing access to world-class education in fields like Engineering, Management, Medicine, and Pure Sciences. Administered by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the scholarship covers various costs including tuition fees, maintenance allowance, travel expenses, and insurance. Selection is merit-based, ensuring that the most capable students receive the opportunity to gain international exposure and advanced expertise to contribute back to society.
