Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship youth skill development program initiated by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). It aims to enable Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. Individuals with prior learning experience or skills are also assessed and certified under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) component. The scheme provides government-recognized certification upon successful completion of training and assessment, which enhances employability. Beyond training, the scheme offers insurance coverage and a financial stipend or reward to candidates completing certain modules. It focuses on vocational training across various sectors including electronics, healthcare, and construction, bridging the gap between industry requirements and the current skill set of the workforce.
